Rumors have it that Ben Gordon and Luol Deng will be receiving a hefty contract extension from the Chicago Bulls. During Gordon’s rookie year, he was awarded the Sixth Man of the Year and since then, he already established himself as an effective offensive player. Last season, Gordon averaged more than 20 points and this coming season I think he will continue to improve his offensive play. But aside from his high offensive output, I think Gordon should improve his defense to make him a better player.
Deng on the other hand averaged about 18 points and 7 rebounds per game last season and I believe he can do better. Deng can further develop his game especially with rebounds. With Deng’s body and athleticism, he can improve his inside game and grab more boards. If Deng can elevate his style of play and be a 20-10 threat, Bulls will surely rise in the playoffs.
These two players are clearly the future of the Bulls. They are both gifted scorers but there’s still room for improvement. Gordon should improve his defense while Deng needs to develop his rebounding skills. The faster they improve, the better for the Bulls.
