Former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson was sentenced 24 hours of jail time and 3 years of probation for driving under the influence and drug possession. The 41-year old boxer was arrested after the authorities spotted him driving erratically. Police stopped his black BMW and found bags of cocaine in his pocket and inside the car. Aside from the short jail time and probation, Tyson was also ordered by a court in Arizona to perform 360 hours of community service.
This is Tyson’s latest brush with the law after he was arrested December last year due to an incident at a nightclub in Arizona. In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping a beauty queen in Indiana and was sentenced to six years in prison. In 1999, he pleaded no contest to assault charges in Maryland.
