De La Salle Green Archers Takes First Win; Topples the Tamaraws

After dropping the season opener against the Ateneo Blue Eagles, the De La Salle Green Archers finally cracked into the win column. The Green Archers found their touch from beyond the arc and buried the Far Eastern University Tamaraws 73-62 for their first win.

Archer guard JV Casio led the offensive onslaught by scoring his career-high 29 points including a perfect 3-3 from long distance. He also had 8 rebounds and two steals.

The game was tied 54 all with seven minutes left in the payoff period when the Casio and Bader Malabes made back-back triples for the 60-54 lead. They never looked back after.

Behind Casio’s 29 points, Rico Maierhofer chipped in 11 points and 17 rebounds while Peejay Barua and Malabes had 9 and 7 points respectively.

Mac Baracael led the Tamaraws with 14 points while Jens Knuttel, JR Cawaling and Mark Barroca each had 9 points.

The Green Archers and Tamaraws are both 1-1 in the standings.
