Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista Suffers Second Defeat

Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista suffered his second career loss at the hands of Mexican fighter Heriberto Ruiz at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Bautista-Ruiz bout, featured as an under card fight in the Hatton-Malignaggi fight, ended by unanimous decision with the judges scoring the bout 77-73, 78-72, 80-70 all in favor of Ruiz.

Bautista was knocked down in the third round and also suffered a cut in the same round. Bautista seemed bothered by the bleeding for the rest of the match. The Filipino boxer didn’t show much urgency and desire to win the fight and eventually lost after eight rounds of boxing.

Bautista dropped to 26-2 (14 KOs) while Ruiz moved up to 40-7-2 (23 KOs).
