ray allen’s game 2 heroics turned into blunder in game 3 as he failed to make even a single shot from the field in game 3 when the los angeles lakers defeated the boston celtics 91-84.
after making a statement in game 2 that they wont return to los angeles, paul pierce managed only 15 points on 5-12 shooting. it was an off night for pierce and allen as they combined for only 17 points. allen had a very ugly night as he missed all of his 13 attempts from the field, including 8 from the arc, just two days after raining eight 3-pointers against la. rajon rondo chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. kevin garnett was the lone bright spot from the green side as he broke out of his slump and finished with 25 points.
kobe bryant led the visiting lakers with 29 points, while derek fisher contributed 16 points. andrew bynum and paul gasol grabbed 10 boards each and had 9 and 13 points respectively.
two more games will be played in boston before the series heads back to los angeles for the final 2 games. after declaring that they won’t come back to la, paul pierce must now step up his game because they are gonna go back to la and they need to steal a win there to seal the deal. the lakers are up 2-1 but the series is far from over. but i dare say that the lakers will go all the way.
