THe Lady Spikers made sure to seal the deal last week on Game 2 of their Finals series against their bitter rivals, the Ateneo Lady Eagles. Unlike their first meeting in the Finals, the Taft-based Spikers made sure to end Game 2 in just 3 sets, 25-23, 25-20,25-16, in front of around 19,000 fans.
Ateneo was led by the league’s best scorer, Alyssa Valdez, but unfortunately, she got very little help from her team as no other Eagle scored in double figures.
La Salle on the other hand was led by sophomore Mika Reyes with 16 points. Co-MVP awardees Abi Marano and Ara Galang chipped in 12 points each. Michele Gumabao tallied just 6 points, but was eventually awarded the Finals MVP becuase of her good overall performance in the series.
